"I AM VENGEANCE.
The Batman is a breathe of fresh air in every way possible. It takes everything you know about Batman in the comics, and actually does it this time. The film has a complete disregard for tropes the character has made popular, and director Matt Reeves set out to make a film, not just a superhero movie -- and it's obvious.
The film's realism from The Batman being beat brutally from the first fight to the last, to his gliding now being a compressed wing suit, is a touch that completely changes the tone of the film on its own. Add that with the horrorifying performance Paul Dano gives in his rendition of the Riddler, and the lack of any happiness in the film whatsoever, this movie is scarily grounded. Something fans of filmmaking and the comics will adore.
What makes Matt Reeve's bold and risky take on The Batman truly pay off though, is the performances given by every single member of the cast. Robert Pattinson plays a more accurate Batman, being the brute emo we know, with an actual mental reason this time. This Batman isn't sad because his past tragedy, he's scarred. He is guilty, and angry, something no film until now has nailed. Making what we now see as, the best Batman performance (bold, right?) Plus, the performance of Commissioner Gorden essentially being the buddy cop, nails the detective vibe the movie was aiming for. Shockingly too, the villains all played equally as good of roles, with The Penguin being an absolute standout. Finally, Zoe Kravit's Catwoman is the best yet, and the best character any DC movie thus far has created. No longer the sexualized trope, she is a developed, equally scarred, and badass character -- one that deserves a franchise of her own.
"Who are you under that mask?"
After The Batman was done, I felt like I'd been on a 3 hour rollercoaster, that should've been even longer. Every minute of the 3 hours was well used, being paced meticulously and to great effect. My only complaint is that The Batman should've been triple the length. With an irrational complaint like that, it is easy to see Matt Reeves made a masterpiece. This film will go down in history in all the right ways.

"JABBA RULED WITH FEAR. I INTEND TO RULE WITH RESPECT."
The Book of Boba Fett is a series that Star Wars fans have been itching for decades. Since Boba's "demise" in Return of the Jedi, the bounty hunter's return was canceled in the form of a Star Wars Story film, and a video game titled '1313. So, it's safe to say fans were beyond ready for this, but was Disney?
The show's 8 episode run was entertaining, full of new lore, and was generally original in the Star Wars universe. But, it was lacking purpose, and the two episodes taken by The Mandalorian only furthered this issue. Essentially nothing eventful to the larger universe occured, for Boba Fett at least. Some fans have gone as far as calling this season "The Mandalorian Season 2.5". But, as seen by Rogue One, a Star Wars project doesn't have to be a large event in the universe, so with that in mind, did Boba Fett succeed in providing an entertaining new story?
Well, the short answer is yes! The Book of Boba Fett gave fans a new look at the once near silent bounty hunter, who's know a passive aggressive and heartfelt hero. Although some fans may find this change unfitting, we think that Boba Fett's redemption arc throughout the show is more inline with his arc in The Clone Wars animated show, and its further proved by the show's finale with Cad Bane.
With that in mind, all of the new and old supporting characters were worthy additions, too. From Fennec Shand to Cad Bane, there was no shortage of cameos, and some more lore friendly fans like us appreciated the likes of Black Krrsantan being a supporting character. Even against popular opinion, we enjoyed the near Power Ranger campiness of the Modded teenage bikers! Star Wars was intended to be fun, and seeing a guy with a robotic eye do a 360 spin before shooting is undeniably fun. But, it does introduce the shows biggest downfall.
"I can bring you in warm. Or I can bring you in cold."
The show's tone is everywhere. In some occasions, Fett is a stone cold badass. In some he is cracking jokes. Furthermore, the directors chosen were in direct contrast to each other, with Bryce Dallas Howard's episode being dark and gritty, directly after a Power Ranger camp-full episode. There was no consistency in the tone the directors chose, and this made the already smaller-scale story feel leagues smaller. With the lower budget and time compared to The Mandalorian, it is bewildering that Disney would choose the director of Spykids to direct two episodes, including the finale. The two did not mesh well together, and that is obvious when you compare each episodes Rotten Tomato scores.
All in all though, this show is not The Mandalorian season two, or even the first for that matter, but it is serviceable. As a show, it is superb. As a Disney + Star Wars series, it is mediocre. We know the service can do better, but chose not to dedicate the time or money to this one, for whatever reason that may be. But, it seems like a second season will come, and we have faith in it being the masterpiece fans were anticipating.

9th Feburary 2022
Although the High Republic series has already kicked off strong, being praised (mostly) by critics and fans alike, 2022 witholds the ending of the current arc, a new series called 'The Alcolyte', and even a video game from the developers of 'Detroit: Made Human'. From the looks of it, this era of Star Wars will only grow this year.
A spinoff that from the outside, looks pointless - may have something special to give us. Beyond the first season wrapping production in August, and supposedly releasing this fall, a second season was greenlit and will be filming in fall as well. What it will be about, or even it's reason to be made, is simply unknown. We do know it will be Rogue One style action, though! That's more than enough for most fans.
A game that has not only been heavily anticipated by fans of LEGO and Star Wars alike, but delayed heavily. But, after reports of heavy crunch leading up to the recent trailer - it seems that the release of April is set in stone at this point. The game features every world in canon, and over 600 characters. Regardless of how the game ends up being, it will be plump full of content for fans to spend time in.
Following a game changer first season, which was universally praised, a season two was essentially neccesary. Shortly after fans took to the internet to give us more of the batch, that was initially disliked, Disney+ confirmed the second season. No details or date beyond a 2022 release were given during this announcement.
Beyond the pivotal final three episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian and Grogu's journey couldn't be on more of a cliffhanger. Although details are sparce, we can confirm that the season is in production and will release end of 2022. Some leaks include the hero leading Mandalore, or some even include the hero leaving the creed behind entirely.
The much anticipated show, may be the biggest Star Wars release of this year, is also one of the most unknown. A 2022 release is expected, May 4th according to leaks. But, with an utter lack of details from story to even concept, the show is mostly a mystery to fans.
Cad Bane, the notorious and long time bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe made his first live action appearance ever on last week's episode on 'The Book of Boba Fett'. Fans around the world praised this appearance, in stark contrast to the Mandalorian's cameos, but it has left many wondering - why?
In Star Wars' last Disney+ affair (exempting non-canon entries like 'Visions'), Cad Bane made a large appearance in the story - but looking a bit different from last time. In Bad Batch, Bane was seen with a metal plate covering his head. So, what does this have to do with The Book of Boba Fett?
In a scrapped version of Season 7 of 'The Clone Wars' (which is canon), we see Boba Fett and Cad Bane meet prior to the Empire's reign. In this arc, a western style dual is held much like the dual with Cad Bane and Cobb Vanth, but the dual ends with the two both being shot in the head. While Boba's Beskar armor protected him, causing the infamous dent on his helmet - Bane was shot almost fatally. This not only provides context for the steel seen on Bane's skull, but provides an idea into the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett.
We can expect a re-dual with Boba Fett, and possibly the end of Cad Bane.

American animation has always borrowed from the classic tropes of Japanese animation, but what about when anime borrows from the notorious likes of Disney?
Belle is a modern take on Disney's Beauty in the Beast, but rather than being a uninventive rehash, the film takes the concept and moves it into the realm of a virtual world called "U", much like the world's current Meta-verse.
The film's protagonist uses "U" as a getaway, before becoming a worldwide sensation with her singing ability, and then finding a threat to that career with the "Monster" (or beast).
From this point forward, it is a classic tale in a cyber-punk enviroment. But what truly carries 'Belle', is it's 2D to 3D art styles, that switch depending on the enviroment. Each is beautifully animated and drawn, and is accompanied by a full orchestrated soundtrack. Without these artistic differences, the movie would not have faired as well, truthfully.
This film's curse in essence, is being another Disney film in regards to its story. Some may find it's over 2 hour runtime tedious, which it would be if not for the musical set pieces.

Rather than being the reboot that was assumed to be coming for the once dormant series, Resurrections is a direct sequel to the finale of the trilogy, even if it doesn't exactly feel like it.
Because of this being a direct continuation, the film generally feels like a safe space for Matrix fans, but it's hard to ignore the larger potential for a meta-reboot. The first 45 minutes show Neo stuck in a new modern day Matrix, and it is tonally and visually a different film from the previous. When the action began though, a grin shot across the theaters faces. Bullet time sequences and choppy mid 2000's camera cuts make this feel like a Matrix movie, but I found myself conflicted as to if I wanted a continuation.
Because it has been nearly a decade since the last offical Matrix film, the newest entry relies HEAVILY on nostalgia, and even if it was fun, it became more of a trick to keep you satisfied. If it wasn't for these tricks though, I am sure this film would have a much lower score.
The acting is great, but the script is stiff. The action is nostalgic and fun, but lacks substance. The easter eggs are often hilarious, but are shoved in your face. This movie is full of 'buts', yet it is still more fun than anything else I've seen this year. Being extremely conflicted on whether this film should exist, I can at least confidently say if you enjoy any Matrix flick, you'll get the ticket's price worth. If not more.

Tom Holland's third and possibly final entry as the friendly neighborhood hero not only reached the level of hype social media accrued, but surpassed it tenfold.
Without spoiling the film beyond what the countless leaks did already, this film is NOT for MCU fans -- but for Spider-man fans through and through. Fans of any Marvel property will enjoy this joy-ride, but it is clear director Jon Watts made this to be as fun as possible for fans of the hero's entire legacy in film.
The action in this film is less like a carefully executed sequence, but a rollercoaster of easter eggs and jaw-dropping moments. Although the action is small in substance, it is fun -- in all the right ways. Watching the Sinister Six or even Doctor Strange combat Holland's Spider-Man is thrilling and fast, and does not waste anytime gettting to the *punch*.
The story on the other hand, is slightly underwhelming. Although it is a mostly original story, the abundance of trailers and leaks made this less of a film and more of an experience. Without the leaks, this may have been groundbreaking. But, that does not mean it's lacking in awe and raw emotion. Don't be surprised if you cry at least once during this. Raw emotion is what carries the story, as it truly feels for the first time that Spider-Man is not a hero, but just a kid in a Spider-Man suit.
Given the films hype, it felt obvious to expect this movie to not live up to its otherworldly hype. But, it really surpasses it. The film is an essential film for any filmgoer, and a true love letter to Spider-Man -- given this may be Holland's final romp as the titular hero.
So essentially -- watch this on the biggest screen possible as soon as you can.

Godzilla is a Japanese icon like no other, simply because it is just as big here in America. The giant being has had MANY iterations. Some grounded and horrifying, some political, some even action packed. But, there's some that are simply not good. Like NOT good. Every Godzilla movie is entertaining, at least, so take the list as a recommendation rather than a set in stone rank. Here's our 5 best and 5 worst Godzilla films!
The notorious dancing and singing baby Godzilla. Every Godzilla film is enjoyable, even if by being horribly corny. But baby Godzilla (aka Godzilla Jr.) almost makes this movies unwatchable. Even worse, this was during the franchise's children approach, and thus was lead by a young child nonetheless. The monsters and events were all dreamed by the young boy, too. But the WORST? The fights are footage from old films, with Godzilla Jr. being the only addition. Avoid it, unless you're binging.
Not to be confused with 2021's 'Godzilla vs. Kong' (although it is pretty fun), the classic King Kong vs. Godzilla was an oddity to the series for many reasons. The American monster tripled in size since its last iteration, it is still the most attended Godzilla film in Japan, and it's... good? Much like this generations most epic showdown: Batman Vs. Superman, the film takes a darker town and tones the action down, making it less extravagant and more violent. But unlike said movie, it works, and works well. This movie is a recommend simply for its action!
Godjira, the original Godzilla film. A mixture of political statement, horror film, and cinematic masterpiece. The movie was obviously a major hit among audiences, so a sequel had to be made. Thus, 'Godzilla Raids Again'. Dropping the political tone, or actually, any tone and the cinematic beauty, this film is just plain fight scenes that are not that good. Being the last black and white Godzilla, and the first to have any monster beyond Godzilla, its lack of.. well everything, is understandable. Just not good enough to watch more than once.
The original Godzilla movie! The best horror/monster film ever released during the time, this movie took a otherworldly concept and used it as a chance to shed light on the nuclear distress in Japan. Also, it was filmed beautifully, and was emotionally distressing in real ways. A movie has never truly been like this one. Although it is overall less enjoyable, simply because 13 monsters kicking asses isn't there, it is a masterpiece of film-making.
Godzilla fights... a lobster? The sea has millions of unknown and possibly horrifying creatures, and they choose a lobster that fights. If that awful decision wasn't enough, the fact that the two monsters (humans in heavy rubber suits) are waist deep in water. Although the story hits all the right beats, it struggles to hit the same highs as in fights, as they're slow and confusing.
In this direct follow-up to Ghidora, The Three Headed Monster, we see the being attack a otherworldly planet named 'Planet X' (original right?), and essentially reside there whilst attacking every so often. Without spoiling anything, there's alien civilizations, astronauts, and cool fights. Plus, with this being the first otherworldly or sci-fi based story in the series, it is shockingly compelling.
Although this isn't the only iteration of a Godzilla Jr. -- this is actually Godzilla Jr. Continuing the trend of the childish and "funny" period of Godzilla, it is easily understood it was still unenjoyable. This movie had horrible fights, horrible story, and a generally boring run-time. Please, don't watch it without a party of friends ready to crack jokes.
As far as classic Godzilla films are concerned, this one is the BEST. It has a corny but relatable story, insanity and sci-fi (thanks to Mothra), and a political theme of holding false idols. Plus, the action is superb in nearly every possible way, with the film's most slow build being the most fun part. The story including a princes from out of country being killed and brainwashed by Mothra, is just a start at the insanity involved in this film
Fans alike agree: this movie SUCKS. Although the newest American adaptation of Godzilla was successful if not insanely memorable, this one was not. The film is boring, bland, uninspired, and a blatant cash grab. Bad acting, a T-Rex named Godzilla (no, seriously), and horrible cinematography with bloom beyond any Michael Bay film. Horrid.
Horrifying, politically grounded, character driven, and utterly beautiful. This Godzilla is an alien created by a mass of an alien civilization. Its mere existence is pain, as it tries desperately to be killed by the humans. Its tail is also its own sentient being, so you know. Since this is a very story driven film, I won't spoil much. But when you see Godzilla's nuclear blast, your jaw will drop.

D.C. Comics have some of the most joyful characters and stories in the comic realm, but what about those stories that make you cringe in awe, or disgust? From Joker getting destroyed (a couple times) to Batman's trip to insanity, here is our list of the top 7 most shocking moments in D.C. Comics
In the now famous and re-done series Crisis On Infinite Earths, Barry Allen runs fast enough to generate enough energy to create a time vortex, ultimately aging him to death and beyond instantly. Considering The Flash was a major character with no other Flash introduced, the shock was real. Kid Flash then followed in his foot steps for years, before finally returning.
In Injustice, The Joker finds fun just messing around with Superman, until he causes Superman to punch his wife and and daughter ultimately killing them. And so begins.. Injustice. This shocking event turns Superman into a D.C. universe villian, which is shocking on its own considering he's the universe's symbol of freedom.
In this infamous and dark rendition of Batman by renown artist and writer Frank Miller, a now retired and old Bruce sneaks (loudly) out of retirement to stop The Joker and crime reign over Gotham, as the GPD was utterly corrupted. At the end of this series, Batman had become a murderer, even if for the right reasons. Thus, he was either dying or being arrested. In a shocking turn, Batman staged a large and purposely recorded fight where he DEFEATED Superman, and proceeded to fake a heart attack to "die" back into retirement. No words needed.
Although well deserved (Rorschach is a horrible being), the death.. or evaporation of Rorschach was the most shocking twist in Watchmen, and considering the insanity of this comic -- it says something. By the end of the series, you find yourself for some reason rooting for Rorschach, even if you don't want to. So to see him fall to defeat in tears, was hard enough. In an act of godliness, or empathy, Doctor Manhattan erases him from existence faster than Thanos's snap, with no remorse. Its even more shocking in Zack Snyder's rendition of the comic, with blood being all that remains.
At the beginning of The New 52, Joker seemed to have either died, or gone off planet. Obviously it was neither with The Joker! After Dollface held Joker essentially hostage, and forced him to the skin off of his face entirely, he vanished. His skin nailed to the wall for months was all that was left, until it mysteriously vanished. When The Joker appeared next, he was seen with his rotting skin hanging onto his face with staples. This was utterly grotesque, and I still hate thinking about it.
In this dark tale from Alan Moore, The Joker shoots Barbara Gordan straight in the stomach in front of Jim Gordan, then abusing and torturing her for the following days. After luring Batman into a mirror maze to distract him, Joker forces a tortured Jim Gordan to ride a slow roller-coaster with video of his daughter bleeding on the ground, and without clothes. As Gordon screams for help, Batman is utterly lost in the maze. Personally, this story is too shocking for me, and the film adaptation is more tasteful. But if you don't hate The Joker after this, I'd be shocked.
After a poll from D.C. asking fans whether the new Robin, Jason Todd should live or die -- fans overwhelmingly answered 'die' with the intuition it was just a joke. Then, 4 months later comes 'A Death in The Family', which begins with The Joker brutally beating Robin with a crowbar, before burning his corpse alone with the warehouse he was torturing him in. Fans were utterly shocked, as essentially THEY killed this Robin. Although he eventually came back as The Red Hood, it took a lot of shock and time to happen.
Games are the best. Sometimes I am in space falling in love with aliens, sometimes I'm Superman. To be honest, I've even been participating in deadly minigames to escape rabbid rabbits. But, we can only play the same game for so long (unless its Call of Duty), so here's our list for the top 6 games to get excited for.
Arkane's response to a new Dishonored? Deathloop. The game's engine and feel is the same, and also shares aesthetics to Dishonored. The spirtual successor has you repeating your life (and death) while being hunted by an unknown bounty hunter. The cycle stops when you reach her first.. Or you hope. Use stealth, powers, disguises, and a massive arsenal of weaponry to survive. Although it is a limited PS5 release, Xbox users and PS4 users can experience this adventure in a little over a year, with PS5 coming next month.
Made by previous developers of Valve's Left 4 Dead series, the small team set out to make a sequel in everyway but name. After the beta, we can personally say it is just that. The horde based gameplay is fun and fluid, and the guns are punchy. You travel southern America as the cleaners, or essentially - the immune. Kill as many ridden (zombies) as possible before you die or make it to the end. Simple and fun. If you like co-op or simply a game you can pour 300 hours into -- check this out.
Although I was a fan of Ubisoft's newest IP: 'Steep' -- many were not so fond of it. Why? It lacked personality and variety. So their response: Rider's Republic. The game's tone akin to Watch Dogs: 2 with color everywhere, the game's sports endless, and the release date close. This game does not look deep or story driven, but fun and arcade based like Skate 3 -- and we love that. If Ubisoft is careful on monetization, this could be the beginning of a large franchise.
When I first played Forza Motorsports 3 I thought: this is incredible. When I first played Forza Horizon I thought: this is even better. After 3 more releases, Forza Horizon 4 released and became one of if not the best and most fun racer ever. The speedy games are known to be the direct competitor with Sony's Gran Turismo for a good reason. Horizon 5 is the same thing, but bigger, prettier, and has a volcano. Badass, right?
After the reveal of 343's new Halo, fans clamored for gameplay. Until it released and looked like mud. Fortunately, the game was pushed back and the graphics received an insane overhaul, and with a beta releasing that was actually wonderful --fans are excited. The game includes a new foe called 'The Banished', our beloved Master Chief, an open world environment, and best of all: a grappling gun. This will be a wild ride.
This game is a funny one. The first Mario + Rabbids , when revealed, was a national meme. But upon release: it was fun, charismatic, and adorable. The idea that Mario and Nickelodeon's Raving Rabbids collaborate to save the world is a mixture of insanity and genius, and the game's XCOM style only lends to that. A bold and risky move, paid off -- and we think it will again.
Although little beyond 4 characters, a basic plot, and the title -- little is known about the game. But, what we do know, is this is RockSteady's direct continuation of the Arkham series, in co-op! Not to be confused with Gotham Knights, this game pits Task Force X against Superman, and that's all we know! But, it is exciting enough, right?
Marvel isn't scared of making you go "...what?", I mean just look at their new Disney+ show 'What if...'! But, these marvel moments were even further, more like a "Oh s*%t!" moment. Be warned.. things get INSANE! Here's our top 7 craziest moments in Marvel comics!
Introduced in the New Avengers #7 (2005), Marvel's rendition of the Illuminati represented all parts of society in life, from common-man to genius to leader. It's original members included Tony Stark, Professor X, Doctor Strange, and more -- not to mention Black Panther and Captain America issues later. The secret society each comprised of helming 1 infinity stone acted as the last defense for the universe, if need be. This reveal was not only shocking, but left fans wondering, what event would require such power?
The Night Gwen Stacy Died is multiple things: the turning point for Peter Parker, a unforgettable comic event, and one of the most known arcs of any Spiderman comic. Debuting in July of 1973, Green Goblin kidnaps and ultimately kills Spiderman's one love -- Gwen Stacy. After Spidey vows to kill Green Goblin, the character's high school and immature persona dies, and changes the trajectory of the character forever. Dramatic, huh?
Even though this character has been a literal god in the hundreds of times, and damn near close thousands -- it continues to shock us. Whether Molecule Man enslaves Doom, or Doom kills half of the Marvel universe -- it is known Doom will stop at nothing to have the power of a God, even if just to lose it.
In this rendition of The Punisher, Castle comes across a long time enemy (or friend depending on how you view it), and to put it lightly, it isn't fun and games. Castle uses a sawed off shotgun to blog Wolverine's face clean off, to continue to shoot his tool off and then... steamroll him? Yeah, Wolverine was flattened. This was not only grotesque, but terrifying as the comic acted as if that was the death of Wolverine. Try and find another comic where Wolverine screams and pleads another hero to stop, I dare you.
If you know anything about Deadpool, you know he is crude, loud, and most of all -- gruesome. Statistically, there is not a single Deadpool led comic without blood, and it is very rare for body parts and f-bombs to fly everywhere. A first reader will definitely need to set the comic down, or at least we did!
Imagine this: The world is overrun by zombies and even the earth's mightiest can't win, what happens? That's exactly what Marvel Zombies aims to tell. Although it acts as more of a 'What if?' story, with even cyclops or a straight cyborg being infected, the gore and uncensored zombification is enough to keep you interested... or disgusted!
The Mad Titan in MCU's Infinity War is properly terrifying, sure -- but compared to his comic version, he's cute! In this miniseries, Thanos has no reasoning besides impressing Lady Death, even if it means tearing his daughter's (Gamora) skin off. When he snaps away the universe at the BEGINNING of the series, even the cosmic greats like Silver Surfer cry in fear of Thanos. If that isn't crazy, what is?!
We know you love comics, I mean -- that's why you're here! But what about that special someone who loves comics, but you don't really know what comics they like? Luckily for you, we spend WAY too much money -- so let's check out some of our best purchases and why you should gift them.
Who doesn't love the MCU? Introduced in Infinity War, Tony Stark's contingent plan to take down Bruce Banner (AKA The Hulk) came in a massive suit of armor, in one of the coolest scenes in the MCU. This detailed and massive figure should come at a price as big as the Hulkbuster itself, but in our store, comes at an exclusive price of $99.99 with free shipping.

A stylish way to display Lego, sure - but more importantly, a great way to spend a couple evenings. Lego brilliantly brings together free pictures in one frame, buildable to your choosing, but when you purchase 3 it makes a massive rendition of Lord Vader that stands 3 feet tall! Although this is more pricey than a normal set of this size, you will NOT regret spending the money -- it is SO badass. $119.99 is the price to pay for awesomeness!

What better to spend an entire month on than re-watching every single Marvel movie made to date (besides Black Widow, sorry)? Cozy up, put on your Captain Marvel PJ's, and get some Popcorn because this set includes over 200 hours of film! Although it is typically at the $399.99 mark, you can find opened sets for roughly $150-$200 on eBay.
Because of it's variety in price, we didn't include a link, but check resellers!
Known as the best comic series ever, and the entire baseline for the DCEU's story --the Dark Knight Returns series is a triumphant read, even comparing to Frank Miller's past work. The bruting Batman is a strong read, and the design and illustrations keep you peeking to the next page. This 250 page read is cheap, too. Plus, has 2 sequels, with the most recent: "Master Race" releasing last year! You can pick this beauty up for $30.00!

We all know and love the Marvel Universe. Whether it be Tony Stark's Iron Man, Captain America, or even The Thing -- almost each character is recognizable in the comic space and film space. But, what about those who haven't had their time to shine (yet)? Here is our 5 best underrated characters to check out!
The only reason Shang-Chi isn't number one on this list, is simply because next month is his appear in the MCU -- making him more known than anyone on this list. But, his character is still one to note. This martial-arts fighting hero is not only charming and funny, but a pioneer for Asian representation in comic media. I'll leave out the origins and juicy details for you to see the movie, but I can say this: get excited!
This quirky and ecstatic character is a personal favorite. The member of the New Avengers is a part-time hero, part-time student, and part-time baby sitter to Luke Cage and Jessica Jone's daughter. When she isn't reading up on books and babysitting, she's beating up Thanos or killing Galactus. Although this character almost reached stardom whilst being casted with Anna Kendrick, this offer fell. Luckily, the character has had plenty of solo runs on her own, with some still occurring!
Kang the Conqueror, also known as Nathaniel Richards is a villian larger than Thanos. Even larger than life! Richards is a time traveling genius, on par or even smarter than Victor Vaughn Doom. Although this villian was recently cameoed (in human form as another character) in Disney+'s Loki, he will be a full fledged villian in Ant Man 3: Quantumania. Before that, definitely check out some comics including him!
After Iron Man's demise in 'Civil War: II', Doctor Doom faces the reality he is no longer Victor Vaughn, but DOOM. In an attempt to honor his rival and bring his inner self back for his mother, he designs his own armor and takes Iron Man's mantle. Although this 12 book run was mainly a way to pad the future for Iron Man's big return, the series boldly puts a light on mental health and life beyond heroism.
The fifth rendition of Ghost Rider (and most recent) is a young Hispanic lead named Robbie Reyes. Just behind the legendary Johnny Blaze, Reyes has a futuristic design that no longer resembles a skull, beyond the teeth. Also, rather than a chain and motorcycle, he uses a muscle car and swords. He DID have a MCU Canon appearance in 'Agents of Shield', and although it was an early MCU highlight, the show is no longer canon and the character is no longer in commission -- with Johnny Blaze being the main now. Check out this badass vigilante before you see Agents of Shield, it does the character justice!
D.C. is full of awesome characters, no argument. Whether your favorite is the titular and equally grumpy Dark Knight, or the wonderous Wonder Woman --there is no shortage of relatable, badass, and funny characters known worldwide. But, with 'The Suicide Squad' reboot releasing tomorrow -- essentially showcasing all relatively unknown villians, we got to thinking: what are some other badass characters no one knows?
This old and obscure character is a classic badass, or an absolute horrid human being. Robert DuBois, the original portrayal of character (also the lead in the new 'The Suicide Squad') is a pained mercenary who is fighting in vengeance for his brother, who suffered life-altering injuries in war -- while DuBois avoided the draft all together. But, in essence, the villain lives to take down Superman, which he actually temporarily does. After this, DuBois spends years in prison, while a white supremist Alexander Trent forcefully takes this role until their showdown comic years after. Also, the new film does the charcter justice in everyway, so read up on BloodSport before checking it out!
This historically Hispanic lead character is more known than the previous thanks to D.C. Rebirth giving the character a full length solo run, but is still criminally unknown. At least until his 2022 film releases! Jaime Reyes, helm of The Blue Beetle first appeared in D.C. Comics after multiple recreations in other distributors in 2009's Crisis on Infinite Earth. The character has since been a leader in Hispanic representation, even if his character arc and feel are more like Spider-Man than something original.
Lobo the Bounty Hunter. Stan Lee's favorite D.C. character, the blatant Punisher rip-off turned badass, and alien bounty hunter. This character first appearing in Omega Men #3 in 1983, became an instant fan favorite for his crude personality, terrifying look, and overall awesomeness. In the Rebirth, he eventually becomes a member of Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad.. Until Batman blows his head up. After his head regenerates though, he becomes a member of the new Justice League. Yeah, insane.
This rather unknown heroine is the daughter of The Devil. No, seriously. In desperation to be freed from the burdens her father caused, she went to the Justice League. After being turned away, she joined the Teen Titans to eventually fight and defeat her father, cementing her as a life-long member of the Teen Titans, in media at least. The character has since been in countless movies, 2 shows, and countless comic runs.
Although, I must admit I am utterly biased on this choice, Mad Dog is awesome. I remember reading 'This is Mad Dog', as the vigilante takes over a mall with criminals holding the newscaster hostage just to test out a gun. As the INTRO. No powers, no cliche, just an original character. That, unfortunately didn't go far. The vigilante appeared in his mini-series in 1987, and since appeared roughly 10 times as cameos or minor roles as recent as Crisis on Infinite Earth and Rebirth. Plus, a re-imagination in the CW's Arrow TV show... but lets forget about that.
Marvel's What If...? writers say that they tried to get a Star Wars character involved with the show but that the idea was turned down.
In an interview with Colldier, head writer AC Bradley and director Bryan Andrews spoke about their involvement in trying to bring the two franchises together. Bradley said, "I was kinda notorious for trying to get a Star Wars character involved. We did try at one point but it's kind of like 'Play with the sandbox that you were given. We gave you the entire MCU, run with that.'" She then went on to say, "I was like, okay, but still, Luke Skywalker would be an amazing Avenger."
Despite no current plans to bring a galaxy far far away into the MCU multiverse, Andrews didn't rule out the possibility of something happening in the future. He said, "Who knows, if fans watch it and love it and clamour enough, in future episodes, who knows what can happen? Who knows? What if, right?"
Elsewhere in the interview, Andrews went on to say, "There was a bunch of ideas that were around and, who knows, maybe at some point we'll get lucky and get to go further. But first order of business was like, let's open up the multiverse off the films that we know, and then hopefully as things progress things can get wilder and wilder and more crazy."
Bradley then joked, "In Season 20, Baby Groot and Baby Yoda can have a play date."
In a separate interview with IGN, Bradley made it very clear that regardless of its animated style, everything within the upcoming series is being considered canon. From what we know so far, Chadwick Boseman's T'challa will appear in four separate episodes whilst Hailey Atwell's Captain Carter will return season to season as a character that acts as the driving force behind the series.

The Suicide Squad isn’t so much a reboot or a sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad as it is a complete do-over -- and this time, they knocked it out of the park. In fact, this irreverent, ultra-violent romp featuring F-list villains is DC’s best film in years.
The story is, essentially, "The Dirty Dozen but With Supervillains," and it's one hell of a great time. Once again, a group of incarcerated super-criminals is sent on a lethally dangerous black ops mission, allowing the thoroughly R-rated movie to live up to its name in gruesome fashion. While we've come to expect costumed heroes and villains to have plot armor so they can show up again for the next franchise installment, the characters of The Suicide Squad enjoy no such luxury. It's made abundantly clear that no one in its colorful cast is safe. That gives it a rare sense of danger, like the good days of Game of Thrones where any scene might have been your favorite character’s last.
And when these characters are killed off, it’s not pretty, as director James Gunn taps into his old gory days as a gross-out provocateur. Characters don’t just go down; they get sliced and diced, incinerated and exploded with blood and guts galore -- the kind where you can see chunky bits in the viscera. Sometimes these over-the-top deaths are done for shock value, sometimes for humor, and sometimes to pull our heart strings. But they'll always inspire some kind of significant reaction, and that’s why the film works so well.
The Suicide Squad allows Gunn to lean into everything that he does best. He masterfully weaves action and drama with wit and humor, which we’ve come to expect from the Guardians of the Galaxy director, but there’s something more ingenious at work here. Gunn is Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka, manic gleam in his eye, taking us on a perverse and strangely emotional rollercoaster ride with a surprise around every corner.
The film may be a superhero war caper on the surface, but underneath, it’s a fascinating examination of DC’s bottom-of-the-barrel baddies. Even the weirdest of the weird like Polka-dot Man (David Dastmalchian) and Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior) are shown to have depths worth exploring. Gunn clearly has a soft spot for outcasts and misfits, and here, he creates a twisted, yet touching, tribute to DC's sad and broken supervillains.
Gunn has previously professed his love for the classic Suicide Squad comic book run from 1987 by the legendary John Ostrander, and while the movie isn’t a direct adaption of that story by any means, it wears its influence with pride. The tone is gritty and tense, Viola Davis is again a force of nature as Amanda Waller, and there are all manner of high-stakes twists and turns, betrayals and deceptions. Those elements are generously lathered with Gunn’s crude, belligerent, and absolutely wild sense of humor, which is also offered to the spectacular cast.
Idris Elba and John Cena are hilarious as rival assassins Bloodsport and Peacemaker, especially in a violent sequence where they try to out-kill each other that’s nothing short of brilliant. Sylvester Stallone voices a walking, talking shark named Nanaue, delivering a performance more silly and charming than it has any right to be. Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag is, thankfully, spared the sort of cheesy lines he was forced to work with in 2016's iteration, and is someone worth rooting for. His dynamic with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, a rare friendship based on mutual respect, is a highlight of the movie. And speaking of the Maiden of Mischief, the film is by far Robbie’s best turn as Harley Quinn -- she’s funnier and more unpredictable than ever. Gunn distills her into pure insanity and The Suicide Squad can’t help but go off the rails to follow her down the rabbit hole.
If there’s a weak point to be found, it lies with the squad's one-dimensional antagonists. In particular, Peter Capaldi’s Thinker feels underutilized -- a single dim bulb in a lineup of dazzlingly bright lights. The film doesn’t suffer much from this, though, because it mines more than enough tension and danger from the team member themselves to keep us invested.
Old toys never die. They just keep coming back in new poses and flexing different muscles as movies and TV shows.
Vesemir, voiced by Theo James (star of The Divergent Series), is described as a “swashbuckling young witcher” who slays monsters in an effort to escape poverty. In Nightmare of the Wolf, Vesemir will embark on an adventure to rid a politically-fraught kingdom of a strange new monster. This journey will also see him confront his own past demons.
That journey will see Vesemir come across Tetra (voiced by Lara Pulver), Deglan (Graham McTavish) and Lady Zerbst (Mary McDonnell). You can see all four of their anime renditions in the gallery below.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will be available after August 23rd, and acts as a prequel to The Witcher TV show. The main show’s showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, is co-producing alongside Beau DeMayo, and the anime is directed by Studio Mir’s Kwang Il Han.
]]>Well, it's obvious that the MCU will switch and place things as it pleases. Much like how they made Iron Man create Ultron instead of Ant-Man, we're sure this villain's past will be toyed with.
However, Jonathan Majors' debut (and "death") in Loki will have major ramifications moving forward. Fans suspect that the Kang who Sylvie kills in Loki is Immortus, because of the medallion he is wearing. That would make sense — however, the MCU has already kind of given him a name...He Who Remains.
So the MCU is already playing with Kang lore. Either they are making Immortus and He Who Remains the same person in the series, or who we saw was another variant altogether. But that is neither here nor there. What we do know is that Kang the Conquerer is in power by the time Loki gets back to the TVA. And Sylvie has restored the multiverse.
It means that anything is possible. The existence of the multiverse also allows the MCU to bring back anybody. Thanos, Iron-Man...anybody. I'm almost positive we'll see another Thanos in the far future — maybe a Secret Wars storyline with all the MCU baddies of all time vs. all the heroes? And Kang could appear literally anywhere heading forward (or everywhere, technically).
It also means that we are one step closer to the Fantastic Four film. Since Kang is of either Reed Richards' or Doom's lineage, you can bet he will appear (in some form) in the Fantasic Four MCU debut. Does that also mean we may get a Black Doom or Mr. Fantastic? Time will only tell.
Majors is set to appear as Kang the Conquerer in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which makes me feel like the film will be more like Civil War, in the sense that many Avengers will be involved. But I also think we'll see Kang before then. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home will both deal with the fallout of Sylvie's kill and restoration of the multiverse. It would be no surprise to see Kang pop up in either film, potentially as an after-credits thriller.
The difference between Marvel's last big bad and Kang is that Thanos kind of chilled in the back for a reaalllyy long time. He appeared in Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy for tiny scenes, but most of Thanos's screentime exists in Infinity War and Endgame. It took years to build up to one big event.
Stephen McFeely, who co-wrote all three Captain America films, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, once said that Phase 4 (and the future of the MCU) would head in several different directions.
"It’s almost inevitable, when you keep making these things and they’re all connected, it cannot be on one straight line or you’re gonna get incredibly repetitive after a while. So it has to spread," said McFeely.
Unlike the three preceding phases that all built up to one massive event, fans should expect several storylines to lead to separate, but interconnected massive events. Comic heads, think Secret Invasion meets The Once and Future Kang. And we've obviously opened the door to Secret Wars as well, maybe for Avengers 5 or 6.
The world of possibilities is as endless as Kang's variants.
Coming out Mid-October 2021 internationally, this retelling of Season 1's story is developed by the same company who made the infamous Ninja Storm games. The gameplay is arcade style combat arena action, for up to four players or single in a story mode. This game looks sweet, and is a simple fun excuse to revisit the awesome story that is Demon Slayer.
This unique stage performed take currently being performed in Japan is not only currently beloved in Japan, but looks awesome! Although no current plans for an English voiced or American version of this play, you can watch the full performance in subtitles on Youtube. It isn't as good as the show per reports, but it is a unique retelling of the Demon Slayer Manga as a whole, so beware of spoilers!
With the second season being a short two months from releasing, re-watching or watching the show again has never been better timed. Enjoy the manga novels 7-13 in full colored animation! Although exactly accurate to the manga, seeing the action and drama in motion and color is the BEST way to watch.
After initially watching season 1 of Demon Slayer, all i wanted was MORE. Luckily, I discovered that there was over 20 full length books that were exactly the story as intended, but in English! Only significant downside? They're all in black and white.
Whether not your a fan of anime or not, it shouldn't matter here. This franchise has some of the best storytelling and overall design in any anime period. We'd even say it narrowly beats Death Note within its manga's story. Check it out, because it is only going to get bigger!

Loki is the third of Marvel’s scripted TV series to debut on Disney+. The first, WandaVision, ended with an episode that was labeled as a series finale. The Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany series also scored 23 Emmy nominations Tuesday — second overall, an impressive showing for Marvel’s first foray — in the limited series category. Olsen is set to next appear in Marvel’s upcoming Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (due in March).
Marvel’s second offering, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is billed as an ongoing drama series (it collected five Emmy nominations in the category Tuesday). That series leads into the next Captain America movie as Marvel continues to move seamlessly between television and film as it connects the MCU to Disney+ originals.
That push continued Wednesday with the Loki finale. Without getting into spoilers, the Loki finale set the stage for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Hiddleston’s Loki character is also expected to also appear in the next Dr. Strange. (Marvel has yet to confirm whether or not that’s happening.) The multiverse-busting finale also seems to have paved the way for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home as it’s been rumored that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, along with former key villains played by Jamie Foxx (Electro) and Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), will appear in Marvel’s December release.
Marvel’s next Disney+ series will be the animated What If … (Aug. 11). Hawkeye is due in late 2021, with several other Marvel scripted originals (She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Iron Heart, Secret Invasion, Wakanda to name a few) also in various stages of development. For its part, Black Widow — which is available to stream on Disney+ and in theaters — also set up Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova to appear in Hawkeye.
