In 2019, Netflix release a TV show based on this popular game and book series. The series take place in a medieval world on a landmass known as the the Continent. The story follow the storyline of Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, who finds his destiny linked to the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg and the young Princess Cirilla. The first season, which premiered on December 20, 2019, was based on The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, a collection of short stories that precede the main Witcher saga. The first season explores formative events that shaped the three lead characters, prior to their first encounters with each other. A second season was announced on November 13, 2019.
