The Empire State Building stands at a height of 1,454 feet (443.2 meters) including its antenna. It was the tallest building in the world when it was completed in 1931 and retained that title until the construction of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in the early 1970s.  The building’s design is often classified as Art Deco, which was a popular architectural style in the early 20th century. The exterior of the building features distinctive setbacks, giving it a tiered appearance as it rises. The building is known for its elegant spire-like antenna at the top. The construction of the Empire State Building was an incredible engineering feat that took just over a year to complete. At its peak, around 3,400 workers were working on the building each day. It was constructed during the Great Depression and was seen as a symbol of hope and progress during difficult times.
